Announcing a New Committee

Forming

Hello All,

We, at St. John's, are in the process of starting up a new Intercessory  Committee.  This committee would be responsible for writing or putting together the Prayers of the People for Sunday Services, and also for any other extra services, such as Thanksgiving, as needed.

I am inviting you to be a part of this new committee.

Please consider joining this committee.  Since this is a new endeavor, we can feel free to set our own guidelines and meeting times - to suit us.

I would like to suggest that we meet once a month - preferably sometime in the middle of the month - to plan the prayer structure and content for the coming month.  (Not to worry about this, there are plenty of resources that we can draw from.)

Please let me know if you are interested, and what would be a convenient meeting time for you.  This could be a week night, or a Saturday or even a Sunday afternoon.  Whatever is convenient.

I am excited about this new program, which will have ministry opportunities for us all.

Please give this request your prayerful consideration, and let me know what you decide.

Thank You, and blessings be upon you.

Deacon Bobbie Molony

Prayer for the Conservation

of Natural Resources

Almighty God, in giving us dominion over things on earth, you made us fellow workers in your creation: Give us wisdom and reverence so to use the resources of nature, that no one may suffer from our abuse of them, and that generations yet to come may continue to praise you for your bounty; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  AMEN.

Membership

The Annual Fellowship Dinner will be held on March 29th 2008. It will again be held at the Broken Arrow Banquet Hall. Gathering will be at 6:00 and dinner will start at 7:00. We have made some small changes to make this years dinner even better than last years. We have added not only soup to the meal but we have added an extra entrée, and also made it a family style sit down dinner instead of buffet. They will be baking cookies for dessert, and someone has donated the funds to purchase appetizers.

The menu will consist of the following:

Appetizers

Curried Chicken Satays

And Stuffed Mushroom Caps

Soup

Cream of Chicken

Salad

Spring Mix

Entrée’s

Baked Ham with Pineapple Glaze

Roast Beef with Gravy

Chicken with Mushroom Cream Sauce

Whipped Potatoes

Vegetable Medley

Dessert: Cookies

Please don’t forget the basket auction. There will be plenty of great baskets in a silent and live auction combined. There is always quite an assortment so everyone can find one they like. Along with the entertainment of the auction, we will have a surprise or two.

If you are interested in donating a basket please contact Patty Paris or the church office.

Text Box: Keep Talking to God

Many times in our impatience, we all have felt that we were cut off from heaven only to discover that there was a time span we were unaware of...and the Lord was on the line all along doing it his way. Keep talking to God. Don’t let anything break down the line of communication. You’re getting through, and God is coming through!
