Text Box: The Prayer Shawl Cabinet is currently empty! All available Prayer Shawls were taken to Northern Illinois University when it was discovered that there was a desperate need for Prayer Shawls of comfort for the students - to help them deal with grief and shock and traumatic stress. 15 Prayer Shawls were sent to NIU, which cleared out our supply. We will be working diligently to bring our supply back up, so that shawls are available for those in our St. John's family who might need them. A call has also been issued to other churches in the diocese for the need at NIU.

If you would like to join us, we meet on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 AM in the hall. All are welcome. And, as you can tell, we need to bring up our supply as soon as possible. If you can knit OR crochet, and feel inclined to help us and to pray while doing that, please see Deacon Bobbie, Judy Matile (10:30 service) or Marilyn Balantyne (8:00 service). All you need to provide is your heart, hands, and hook or needles - the yarn will be supplied to you if needed. If you cannot meet with us on Wednesday mornings - that's OK, you can pick up instructions and yarn to work on at home.

Peace and love, Deacon Bobbie
