St. John’s offers many opportunities for engagement. Parishioners are invited to actively participate in the various activities that resonate as part of our culture.
Hospitality is a hallmark of St. John’s. Throughout the year one is invited to share warmth and refreshment with others. Whether it is at coffee hour after church services or being part of the “renowned receptions” after a concert, the food and fellowship helps make any event more complete. St. John’s is always pleased to plan events which include food and fellowship.
The Concert Series Concert Series 2011-12

St. John’s music director, Mr. Thomas Secor plans an annual series of concerts which are held in the church. Each year we have musicians and/or entertainers share their talents with our community. These concerts are free to the public and represent a variety of music. Four to six concerts are planned each year with local, regional, and occasionally international talent. St. John’s Hospitality group hosts a reception following each concert. These special events are an important part of parish life and are a mainstay of our programming.
Work Days – Men’s Club – Special events

St. John’s periodically plans special work days which are designed to provide opportunities for fellowship, general maintenance, and refreshment. The Men’s club sponsors the Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper along with assisting each year in the plans for the Parish Picnic. St. John’s holds two rummage sales each year one in the fall and one in the spring. We celebrate St. Nicholas Day each year with the church school children. Periodically special events are planned to celebrate milestones or special occasions. More recent celebrations have included the 175th Anniversary of St. John the Evangelist Church and the Ever Forward in Christ Brunch held in our parish hall in the Fall of 2010.

Other events that St. John’s plans each year include the Blessing of the Animals in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, Christmas and Valentine Cookie Sales, and Kringle Sales during the spring and fall.
